Publisher's comments

This is a book about coaching. It is for you if you are already a coach or are looking to adopt a coaching approach in the work you do. Specifically it is a book about using NLP as a Coach, particularly in the field of performance.

Neal Anderson has written a practical guide that is refreshingly different to the usual publications - one that you can dip into and actually shows you what to do and when to do it.

Neal Anderson has brought together a rich selection of NLP tools and approaches and shows you how they can integrate in a coaching conversation. He expands on the SCORE Model developed by Robert Dilts and Todd Epstein and presents it as a framework to structure a coaching conversation.

Neal shows you how following the natural process of change gives you an effective system to help people overcome limitations, produce results, increase focus and reach goals in their personal and professional life.

This is a very thorough and easy-to-use handbook for anyone working in the field of NLP and coaching, though I believe it would also benefit many people on a personal level who wish to make positive changes to their own lives and are looking for an accessible manual to guide them through the process. The book is based around a very useful coaching model which works within a natural framework for change, and as such is designed to effectively support the client (or reader) to explore issues, understand the underlying causes, set goals and achieve lasting desired outcomes. Each of the elements of the change process are analysed in depth, and a focus on topics such as building motivation, developing strategies, and applying personal resources are all illustrated by clear models, diagrams and example questions to enhance your confidence in using NLP techniques.

As a coach I find this practical support invaluable, and the book is set out in such a way that it can be read through as a linear guide to develop coaching skills, or as a handy resource to dip into to refresh your existing knowledge or find a different approach. New coaches will also find the sections on business development and supervision give clear guidance on areas that are often overlooked by other writers, and there are also some great suggestions for further reading.

I would recommend this book to all coaches (whatever your level of experience) as a very worthwhile addition to your tool kit of resources, and one which you will make use of on a regular basis.

I entirely agree with J. K. Cook. This is simply the best NLP coaching companion. Neal Anderson uses his extensive experience and research to bring together a practical collection of NLP coaching tools and techniques in one handy reference volume.

The book is clearly structured with one tried and tested technique per page supported by helpful diagrams to make reference quick and easy for a busy coach.

What a mine of information in an easy read format. This book is very informative both to the novice and to those who already know something about NLP and what it stands for. It tells all you need to know, and I would heartily recommend it to anyone wishing to further their knowledge about NLP - in inspiring change and performance.

Neal Anderson has a good way of getting information across to the reader in a professional and friendly way. At the end - you'll want to know more about the author and NLP It is a coach companion indeed and well worth keeping on your desk/coffee table for dipping into.
